NO SPEAKY? DIM PROBLEM! ON SCREEN TODAY - S4C Campaign

Top Welsh celebrities have joined the latest S4C Calon Cenedl (Heart of a Nation) campaign. The celebs, including Lembit Opik and Colin Charvis, were filmed interacting with the general public out on the streets wearing heart costumes and specially-made sandwich boards featuring the slogan, ‘No Speaky? Dim problem!’

Seven well-known celebrities feature in the campaign promoting S4C’s accessibility to everyone – whether they speak Welsh or not.

Earlier this summer, Lembit and Colin – both non-Welsh speakers – were the stars of S4C reality series Cariad@Iaith:Love4Language. In the series, the celebrities spent an intense week learning Welsh and their efforts were filmed for a series of live nightly episodes.

Keen to put their new grasp of the Welsh language to good use, Lembit and Colin joined their fellow learners Helen Lederer, Melanie Walters, Rhys Hutchings, Matt Johnson and Josie d’Arby out on the Welsh streets to film a series of comical on-screen promos for the campaign.

The on-screen commercials also promotes the S4C’s online catch-up service, subtitles service and the range of programme genres available to watch on the channel.

Viewers have the option of using English subtitles on most of S4C’s programmes, whilst the majority of programmes are also available to view online at s4c.co.uk/clic for up to 35 days after transmission.

The campaign featuring the Cariad@Iaith:Love4Language stars will run on television and radio from 16 September.

No Speaky? Dim Problem!

Bydd rhai o sêr enwocaf Cymru i’w gweld yn ymgyrch Calon Cenedl ddiweddaraf S4C. Cafodd y selebs, sy’n cynnwys Lembit Opik a Colin Charvis, eu ffilmio ymysg y cyhoedd mewn gwisgoedd anarferol gyda’r slogan ‘No Speaky? Dim Problem!’

Mae saith wyneb adnabyddus yn ymddangos yn yr ymgyrch sy’n hyrwyddo hygyrchedd S4C i bawb – boed yn medru siarad Cymraeg ai beidio.

Nôl ym mis Gorffennaf, roedd Lembit a Colin – y ddau yn ddysgwyr Cymraeg – yn rhan o gyfres realaeth S4C Cariad@Iaith:Love4Language. Yn y gyfres, treuliodd wyth seleb wythnos ddwys yn dysgu Cymraeg, a ffilmwyd eu hymdrechion ar gyfer cyfres o raglenni byw nosweithiol.

Aeth Lembit a Colin, gyda’u cyd-ddysgwyr Helen Lederer, Melanie Walters, Rhys Hutchings, Matt Johnson a Josie d’Arby i strydoedd Cymru i ymarfer siarad Cymraeg a ffilmio cyfres o hysbysebion doniol fel rhan o’r ymgyrch.

Bydd yr hysbysebion newydd hefyd yn cyfeirio at wasanaethau mynediad y sianel, gan gynnwys isdeitlau, gwasanaeth ar alw ar-lein S4C a’r amrywiaeth o raglenni sydd ar gael i wylwyr.

Mae gan wylwyr S4C yr opsiwn o ddefnyddio isdeitlau Saesneg ar y mwyafrif o raglenni, ac mae rhaglenni’r sianel ar gael i wylio ar-lein, s4c.co.uk/clic, am hyd at 35 diwrnod ar ôl y darllediad cyntaf lle bod hawliau yn caniatáu.

Bydd yr ymgyrch gyda sêr Cariad@Iaith:Love4Language i’w gweld ar y teledu ac i’w glywed ar y radio o 16 Medi.
